On Creating

.

I create because

I am alive.

.

In creating,

I reveal

the unseen and the unheard.

.

The living mystery beyond form,

present in the everyday,

felt before it is understood.

.

In creating,

I remember

what I am.

.

Beyond appearance.

Beneath conditioning.

.

Being

a living mystery.

.

My art begins with

deep seeing.

.

My poetry begins with

deep listening.

.

I work through

attunement

clear perception

deep sensing

and wonderment.

Sometimes I begin

with  a particular focus.

Sometimes I follow

what emerges from within.

.

Either way,

I rarely know beforehand

what a work will become.

Painting and writing arise

intuitively and playfully,

without a predetermined outcome.

.

Within the creative process,

.

I am at once

.

the muse and the artist,

the oracle and the witness.

.

Inspiration and creation.

Revelation and recognition.

.

Traditionally,

the muse is someone

outside the artist –

who inspires the work.

.

For me, it is different.

.

The muse is the soul.

The unseen.

The living mystery.

The soul as essence.

What we are beyond form.

.

The muse as beauty.

Essence taking form.

.

The mystery as aliveness.

Life, in its infinite unfolding.

.

The muse is not

someone I seek.

.

It is a world I enter.

A soul I encounter.

A mystery I live.

.

This is where

Zielsmuze begins.

.

My process unfolds

in cycles

of creation,

stillness,

wonder

and revelation.

.

The remembrance arises

 through colours,

symbols,

words,

silence,

and encounter.

.

My work does not seek
to explain or define.

.

its plays with perception,

mystifies the ordinary,

aMuses with beauty,

reveals the unseen,

awakens wonder

and vivifies essence.

.

My work gives form to

what quietly reveals itself

beneath the surface of things.

.

Art as a mirror,

poetry as a whisper,

mystery as homecoming.

.

I work with mixed materials:

.

ink,

watercolour,

acrylics,

pencil,

gold leaf,

organic elements

and textile-based textures.

.

Every work is unique.

.

Even within editions,

each piece carries

a handwritten line,

symbol

or mark.
